Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785)

A Temporary Protection visa (TPV) is a temporary type of protection visa that is valid for up to three years.

There are a number of requirements to be completed, such as health, security, character and identity. be a family member of a person found to engage Australia's protection obligations, and be included in their application for this visa.

You and any eligible family members included in the application must be in Australia when you apply for this visa.

 

Protection Visa (Subclass 866)

To be granted a Protection visa (subclass 866) you will need to be found to engage Australia’s protection obligations for  refugee as defined by the Migration Act 1958 and meet the complementary protection criteria in the Migration Act 1958.

You and any eligible family members included in the application must be in Australia when you apply for this visa.

The Protection visa (subclass 866) is a permanent visa.
